Job Description Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical / Electronics Design Engineer with expertise in Electrical and electronics system design, schematic development, and compliance engineering for medical equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Electrical system design, power distribution systems, EMI/EMC design, DFMEA, and field failure analysis, along with strong knowledge of communication protocols and interface technologies.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Convert complex requirements into electrical designs and schematics.
- Design and validate electrical systems for medical equipment applications.
- Prepare technical specifications, DFMEA, reliability reports, and design documentation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and global teams on integrated solutions.
- Provide technical directions to team members and subcontractors.
- Desing, Testing and qualification of electrical systems
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
Key Electrical Competencies
- Microcontroller / Embedded Basics: Basic understanding of microcontroller or processor-based systems. Exposure to embedded hardware design is preferred.
- Electrical Fundamentals & Power Systems: Good grasp of electrical engineering principles, including basic power systems, circuits, and battery fundamentals.
- Schematic & PCB Basics: Ability to understand and assist in creating electrical schematics. Basic exposure to PCB design concepts and tools.
- Compliance Awareness: Familiarity with EMI/EMC concepts and willingness to learn applicable standards and design practices.
- Reliability & Quality Basics: Exposure to engineering analysis methods such as DFMEA or root cause analysis (academic or project level is acceptable).
- Communication & Interface Technologies: Basic knowledge of protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, or USB. Awareness of interface technologies is a plus.
- Testing & Validation: Basic hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, or logic analyzers (through projects or internships).
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical design for medical equipment or similar domains.
- Knowledge of medical equipment standards and testing

- Ability to understand software code for integration purposes.
