Job Description
Production OSD:
- Coating Pan Operation: Set up, assemble, and operate automated auto-coaters and conventional coating pans according to approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR).
- Coating Solution Preparation: Prepare coating suspensions, polymers, colorants, and enteric formulations using high-shear homogenizers and mixing tanks following exact batch recipes.
- Parameter Monitoring: Control and monitor critical process parameters during coating runs, including pan speed (RPM), spray rate, atomization air pressure, inlet/outlet air temperatures, and bed temperature.
- Spray System Maintenance: Assemble, adjust, and clean peristaltic pumps, spray guns, and nozzles to ensure uniform spray distribution and prevent gun choking or dripping.
- In-Process Quality Checks: Perform routine inline quality checks, such as tablet weight gain verification, drying checks, and visual monitoring for surface smoothness.
- Defect Troubleshooting: Identify and address common film/sugar coating defects early, such as tablet sticking, picking, twinning, orange peel, erosion, or color variation.
- Line Clearance & Cleaning: Execute thorough washing, solvent/water flushing, and sanitation of coating pans, ducting, and solution preparation vessels (Type A/B cleaning) during line clearances.
- BMR & Logbook Entry: Record operational data, processing times, solution consumption, and machine usage real-time in equipment logbooks and BMRs following ALCOA+ rules.
- Tablet Loading & Unloading: Safely transfer core tablets from IPC bins into the coating pan and unload finished coated tablets into sealed, labeled containers.
- Safety & EHS Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety guidelines for handling organic/aqueous solvents, wear required safety gear (respirators, goggles, gloves), and maintain 5S discipline in the coating suite.
