Job Description

Objective: To support the development, characterization and optimization of solid forms of APIs, intermediates or advanced materials. To conduct solid-form screening, crystallization studies, analytical characterization and contributing to robust process development. Key Responsibility
• Perform polymorph, solvate, hydrate, salt, and co-crystal screening using established protocols.
• Conduct crystallization experiments to explore solid-form diversity and stability profiles.
• Assess solid-state properties (morphology, particle size, stability, hygroscopicity) relevant to process ability.
• Operate and interpret data from analytical tools such as: PXRD, DSC, TGA, Raman/IR spectroscopy, Optical/SEM microscopy, Particle size analyzer (by laser diffraction).
• Develop small-scale crystallization processes for selected solid forms.
• Study the impact of solvent, temperature, seeding, supersaturation and mixing on crystallization outcomes.
• Provide input on crystallization scale-up and troubleshoot material-related challenges.
• Performing crystallization studies to find the optimal solid form of a compound based on properties like stability and bioavailability.
• Writing detailed technical reports, project updates, and protocols.
• Collaborating with other scientists and engineers, such as in formulation development.
• Conducting research and development for new solid-state materials and processes.
• Maintain accurate, detailed experimental records and prepare technical reports.
• Summarize solid-form screening results and data interpretations for project teams. Qualification & Experience: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Solid State Chemistry, Crystallography, Material Science, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or related field. 2–6 years of industrial or academic experience in solid-state chemistry or crystallization development. Strong understanding of polymorphism, crystal engineering, and solid-state phenomena.
