Position Summary
We are seeking anEngineer III – Mechanicalto join a growing R&D team in Hyderabad supporting sustaining engineering, VAVE, and lifecycle management for theKingFishersample preparation systemsandDetection instruments.
In this role, you will be akey individual contributor, owning mechanical subsystems and executing design changes to support product performance, reliability, and costobjectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, support system integration, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Development
Design, develop, and supportmechanical components and assemblies, including mechanisms, enclosures, and structural elements.
Ownsubsystems or modules, including design, CAD modeling, detailing, and documentation.
Performtolerance analysis, material selection, and design optimizationto meet performance and manufacturability requirements.
Supportprototyping, testing, and design verificationactivities.
Sustaining Engineering & Lifecycle Support
Execute sustaining activities includingdesign updates, ECO implementation, and component obsolescence management.
Performroot cause analysisof field and production issues and implement corrective actions.
Supportvalidation and qualificationof mechanical design changes.
Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE)
Identifyand implementcost reduction opportunitieswithin mechanical designs and assemblies.
Evaluatealternative materials, components, and manufacturing processesin collaboration with senior engineers.
Supportdesign for manufacturability (DFM/DFA)and cost optimization initiatives.
System Integration & Technical Contribution
Collaborate with systems, electrical, and firmware teams to supportsystem integration and troubleshooting.
Contribute tosystem requirements, interface definitions, and verification activities.
Participate indesign reviews and technical discussions, providing data-driven input.
Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work withglobal R&D teams (Finland, US, Singapore)to support knowledge transfer and ongoing product support.
Partner withmanufacturing, quality, service, and sourcingto resolve issues and improve product performance.
Collaborate withBusiness Unit Product Managementto support execution aligned with product priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineeringor related field.
5+ years of experience inmechanical engineering for complex products or systems.
Strong experience withCAD tools and mechanical design principles.
Experience introubleshooting, root cause analysis, and hands-on problem solving.
Experience working incross-functional engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience withlife sciences or analytical instrumentation.
Experience withDFM/DFA, cost optimization, and VAVE initiatives.
Familiarity withprecision mechanisms,fluidicsintegration, or thermal design.
Experience withtesting, validation, and product lifecycle support.
Exposure toregulated product development environments.
