About the Role
As a Clinical Data Team Lead, you will serve as the lead data manager for one or more clinical projects or provide support to senior lead data managers. You may independently lead all data management activities for studies of limited volume or complexity, with guidance from senior team members when needed.
In this role, you will also act as a key liaison between departments and clients for all study-related data management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply relevant components of the project protocol to daily tasks and guide team members in their application.
- Serve as a liaison to the Project Lead and/or client, communicating all data management (DM) activities and study updates.
- Develop and maintain project documentation and perform independent reviews of data management deliverables in accordance with CDM guidelines.
- Develop and deliver study-specific training for DM project staff.
- Produce regular project status reports for management, Project Leads, and/or clients.
- Monitor study metrics and project progress.
- Participate in business development activities, including bid preparation and attendance at bid defense meetings when required.
- Assist with project forecasting, resource planning, and identification of out-of-scope activities; support the contract modification process as needed.
- Mentor junior-level staff on study-related tasks and processes.
- Assist with the administrative and financial management of assigned projects.
- Perform all assigned data management activities independently, efficiently, and with strong attention to quality.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant academic or vocational qualification.
- Previous experience comparable to at least 2 years in a related role.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and directly related experience may also be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong ability to apply knowledge and skills in a highly organized manner while adhering to regulatory guidelines, SOPs, and client expectations.
- Proficiency with interactive computer programs and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of English grammar and language.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
- Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding clinical and proprietary client data.
- Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork.
- Ability to train, mentor, and guide study teams effectively.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet timelines and adapt to changing project demands.
Working Conditions and Environment
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment with exposure to standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel to site locations may be required, including domestic and international travel.
